I remember watching the second movie and hating it so much I never saw the third one. But thanks to your comment I went and researched about the scorpion bug so I guess they’re really going for the whole thing. I’m actually hoping for a good game.

Great that it finally the projects has something going on. Some observations:
– The scorpion-like bugs come from the second movie, a direct-to-video horrible stuff.
– I do like a lot the original movie. I actually listened a minute-by-minute podcast that analysed one minute at a time the whole movie in chapters of 10 to 20 minutes. It was a great podcast to hear. The guys who did it really loved the movie. That’s my recommendation.
– I always have hoped for a game with the Roughnecks timeline and technology (the tv show), the whole series had an internal logic and many stuff that really made sense, opposite to the movie (although I know the movie was a satire of the military). But at least this is some Starship troopers so I’ll take it.
