Just in case you’re wondering what happened this week in the genres of Strategy and Wargaming, I’m here to help you find out! These are the Strategy and Wargaming News of the week, from the 27th of July to August 7th.
Headquarters: World War 2 Market Garden DLC
Headquarters: World War II – Market Garden will be the first expansion of one of the most interesting wargames in 2024.
Headquarters: World War II – Market Garden brings a new British campaign with eight new battles set during the events of Operation Market Garden. The expansion will also add 10 new units, 3 British heroes, and several new visual assets to portray the Netherlands accurately.
No release date has been announced.
Stormgate RTS Out Now
The Free-to-play RTS game, Stormgate came out on July 30th, and the player reception has been mixed. The negative Steam reviews are mainly attributed to the cartoonish art style, and the microtransactions, and some backers are disappointed that their backing in Kickstarter won’t get them the entirety of the Early Access roadmap of content.
Memoriapolis Release Date
City-management title, Memoriapolis is set to arrive on the 29th of August. As leader of your city, you’ll be tasked with leading it through the ages, across a span of over 2,500 years, from Antiquity to the Age of Enlightenment. Each “Age” is set to introduce new mechanics, and with them, new challenges for you to tackle.
Since the game isn’t going to have combat in it (from the looks of its trailers) I’m interested to see how Memoriapolis is going to keep things engaging. I’m intrigued.
Regiments – Winds of Change DLC Date
Ask anyone else that’s not me about Regiments and they’ll swear on how Regiments is the best wargame to wargame, since Wargame: Red Dragon. Now, this one-dev hit wonder is getting its first DLC, and it’s called Winds of Change. This DLC will bring:
- Procedural campaigns;
- New units and regiments;
- Heliborne troops and fighter jets;
Regiments – Winds of Change goes live on August 16th.
