Terminator: Dark Fate – Defiance Out Now

Terminator: Dark Fate – Defiance, one of the most antecipated game of 2024 just came out!

The new real-time strategy title from Slitherine plunges you into the heart of the conflict between humanity and Legion, the AI entity bent on eradicating all traces of human resistance. In its single-player campaign, you’ll be leading the Founders army in a desperate bid to thwart Legion’s genocidal ambitions.

From what I’ve seen so far (haven’t had the time to give it a try), the game looks extremely promising, with a rich tapestry of tactical gameplay decisions. From unit placement to battle tactics and resource management, to be victorious must navigate a series of expansive maps, planning every move to outmanoeuvre the enemy and secure Legion’s defeat, and humanity’s future. The modular component damage system adds a layer of customizability and seemingly, some realism, so I would love to have it ported elsewhere. Check the video at the 1-minute mark.

You’ll have access to a diverse array of military assets, from infantry units and heavily armoured vehicles to cutting-edge plasma technology and airborne drones. The battlefield itself becomes a weapon, and a liability, with physics-based building demolition offering yet another layer of tactical opportunities for those willing to exploit their surroundings.

If you’re one of those crazy APM guys into multiplayer, it delivers with its skirmish and online multiplayer modes. As one of three distinct factions—Founders, Movement, or Legion—you can test your skills against AI or real-life opponents in intense 1v1 and 2v2 battles.

Maybe, one day, Terminator: Dark Fate- Defiance will be a part of the Best Real-Time Strategy Games.

Terminator: Dark Fate – Defiance is currently 10% off on Steam, and it will cost you 35,09€ | $35,99 | £30.15 until the 28th of February, 2024.
