Dying Breed Is An RTS
“Dying Breed, is an RTS” is something one might hear from Master Yoga. What it is, instead, is a new and explosive RTS from times gone by, updated to modern standards. Set in a twisted version of the Second World War, it promises to blend “fast-paced action with strategic decision-marking”.
Published by Microprose, this homage to the golden era of RTS will have you fighting evil, over-the-top arch-enemies, zombies, giant worms, what looks like devilish dogs, and retro-futuristic enemies. It’s all very cheesy and, same as other cheesy titles from the 90s, it’s going to be complemented by live-action FMVs and a metal soundtrack.

Xenos Are Coming To Earth In A Week
Hooded Horse has finally removed my muzzle. I’m finally allowed to say that I’m absolutely loving Xenonauts 2 and I’ve already clocked more hours into this preview version than I ever did on the first one. Just don’t ask me why, because I’m planning on coming back to Xenonauts 2014 to pen my review of this new entry prior to its release, and I want to see where things have improved. So far, it’s playing great, and it’s more of the same xeno-spanking action we’ve grown accustomed to. My only concern is that it might stray too close to the original one, and be too derivative. We shall see, but so far my assessment is very positive.
The game is coming to Steam Early Access on July 18th.
Ultimate General: American Revolution Is Coming
A couple of weeks ago, an unlisted Ultimate General: American Revolution trailer video was posted (the one above), revealing more about the upcoming video game from Game Labs. The trailer shows a strategic layer with tactical battles on land, similar to Total War; Tactical naval battles like the underrated Ultimate Admiral: Age of Sail; Staff, army, and inventory management. There’s a bit of everything, but after the botch that was Dreadnoughts, I’ll keep my skepticism.

Defend Your Town With Thronefall
A neat little thing this one. A simplistic tower defense that’s both endearing and fun all around. Build your town during the day, and defend it during the night. Prioritize what you need in order to survive. You can try the demo for Thronefall right now.
It’s set to release in the third quarter of 2023.
