The Best Star Wars Games On PC In 2024 – May The 4th Be With You

5 – Star Wars: TIE Fighter Special Edition

I don’t want to confuse you with this one, so hear me out. Star Wars: TIE Fighter is a classic space combat simulation game that, to this very day, remains unmatched in captivating Star Wars pilots. Originally developed by Totally Games and published by LucasArts, TIE Fighter places players in the cockpit of Imperial starfighters, offering a unique perspective on the Galactic Empire’s military campaigns. This game stands out for its deep and challenging gameplay, requiring strategic thinking and piloting skills to complete missions and rise through the ranks of the Imperial Navy.

In Star Wars: TIE Fighter, players take on the role of a TIE fighter pilot serving the Empire during the Galactic Civil War. The game features a compelling storyline that explores the Empire’s perspective on the conflict, presenting missions that involve dogfighting, reconnaissance, and even covert operations against the Rebellion. With its realistic flight mechanics and attention to detail, TIE Fighter offers a nuanced portrayal of space combat within the Star Wars universe.

However, the game’s a bit outdated by now, so you might want to play it by getting Star Wars: X-Wing Alliance and installing the TIE Fighter: Total Conversion mod, that ports the original 1994 LucasArts classic to the 1999 X-Wing Alliance engine. Both TIE Fighter and X-Wing Alliance are available on PC platforms like Steam and GOG.

4 – Star Wars: Battlefront 2 (2005)

Star Wars: Battlefront 2 (2005) is the legendary action first-person shooter game set in the Star Wars universe, developed by Pandemic Studios and published by LucasArts in 2005. This beloved and iconic game allows you to step into the shoes of a true grunt and engage in epic battles across the most recognizable Star Wars locations, spanning from the prequel era to the original trilogy.

Personally, my history with Battlefront goes back to the first title in the series, but it was with Star Wars Battlefront 2 that I spent the most time- at the time just playing against bots because I had no internet at home. Still, I played it for hundreds of hours and as a kid I clearly see how game-changing it was when compared to the original that came out just a couple of years earlier. You can choose to fight for the Galactic Republic, Galactic Empire, Rebel Alliance, or Confederacy of Independent Systems, commanding troops, vehicles, and heroes from the Star Wars universe. The game features a variety of game modes, including conquest battles, space skirmishes, and hero duels, providing diverse gameplay experiences that capture the essence of Star Wars warfare.

With its large-scale multiplayer mode and thrilling single-player campaign, Battlefront II offers an immersive and nostalgic experience for Star Wars fans that’s still enjoyed by many today.

3 – LEGO® Star Wars™: The Skywalker Saga

This entry is going to annoy a couple of you, but I’m okay with that because Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is an amazing and whimsical adventure game packed with Star Wars content to the brim! Developed by TT Games and published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, the game invites players to journey through all nine main Star Wars films in the signature LEGO® style, combining humour, exploration, and puzzle-solving with iconic Star Wars moments and characters. From the deserts of Tatooine to the forests of Endor and beyond, no other game offers a galaxy so vast and an experience so lighthearted, fun and hilarious as The Skywalker Saga.

Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is all about placing you in key moments from the Star Wars saga while letting you take control of your favourite characters, including Luke Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Darth Vader, Boba Fett, Leia, Darth Maul, R2D2, and even obscure characters like Rey, Fin and Kylo Ren.

The game features a wide range of missions, challenges, and side activities, encouraging exploration and creativity as players build, smash, and solve their way through this Galaxy far, far away. With its charming visuals, accessible gameplay, and expansive content spanning all three Star Wars trilogies, LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga offers a delightful gaming experience for fans of all ages on PC, available for purchase and download on platforms like Steam in 2024.

2 – Star Wars Jedi Knight 2: Jedi Outcast

Star Wars Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast is a beloved action-adventure game developed by Raven Software and published by LucasArts in 2003. You’ll assume the role of Kyle Katarn, a former Jedi Knight turned mercenary, as he embarks on one of the best single-player journeys set in the Star Wars galaxy to confront a new threat.

The game’s claim to fame and this second place is with in-depth lightsaber combat, an expansive list of force abilities, and diverse weaponry (yes, even blasters). Jedi Outcast dynamic lightsaber combat is an experience that captures the essence and the lethality of wielding such a powerful weapon. Lightsabers have their own physics and just brushing up against a wall or an enemy with one is enough to slash them. This leads to some of the best and most intense lightsaber duels ever seen in video games, and one of the best Jedi experiences available today, in 2024.

1 – Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, developed by Respawn Entertainment and published by Electronic Arts, is my favourite Star Wars game of all time, a captivating action-adventure set in the aftermath of Order 66. You assume the role of Cal Kestis, a young Jedi Padawan on a quest to rebuild the Jedi Order while evading the clutches of the Empire. This game seamlessly blends intense lightsaber combat, exploration, and puzzle-solving elements within a richly detailed and immersive Star Wars universe, always being respectful to the lore and its already existing characters.

In Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, as Cal Kestis you’ll master the art of lightsaber combat and learn on the fly how to use Force abilities to overcome formidable enemies and navigate the different planets’ environments. The two things that sold me on the game were its compelling narrative that delves into Cal’s journey of self-discovery and redemption, as he encounters iconic characters and explores diverse planets across the galaxy, and the incredible souls-like combat that continuously evolves throughout the campaign, never getting stale. First, you start as a competent by far from experienced Jedi and by the end of the game, you’ve rebuilt your double-bladed lightsaber and can even split it in two for double wielding. It’s excellent.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order stands out as the best of the best Star Wars games available for PC in 2024, offering a perfect blend of storytelling and gameplay alongside beautiful graphics. In the end, if you want to spend your 4th of May playing Jedi, go with Jedi: Fallen Order, because no other game will deliver an unforgettable Star Wars experience that appeals as much as this one.
