Starship Troopers: Terran Command – Year One Roadmap – Would You Like To Know More?

The best real-time-strategy game in recent memory, Starship Troopers: Terran Command is finally getting some well-deserved DLC and a year-one roadmap has been announced to detail all the things that are going to be.

The first batch of free updates will iron out some balance issues and improve the user experience in ways not detailed as of yet, a new federation unit and a new scenario, Steam achievements, new challenge missions accompanied by a high score system, a new “top-secret game-mode to enhance replayability” and last, but certainly not least, a scenario editor!

Those with heavier wallets will have two paid DLCs to splurge on. A mini-campaign based around challenge missions will make the bulk of the first expansion. A second, more substantial one is going to take place in a whole new environment and feature in additional units. At this time not much is known, but the video below is promising more details later this year.

If you don’t know about Starship Troopers: Terran Command, in my extensive review I’ve described it as “an excellent- if conservative- real-time strategy game and its Slitherine’s way of slithering into the mainstream gaming scene. The sheer quality of its presentation, the expansive single-player campaign on display, and a perfect adaptation of the setting to RTS mechanics at such a low price are enough to earn Starship Troopers a commendable recommendation on my end”.

A seamless way of blending in the themes of the franchise warfare tactics and doctrines (fighting giant bugs requires some effort and some consideration) with the mechanical limitations of the RTS format earned the Artistocrats development team a coveted “Strategy and Wargaming Golden Seal of Approval”.
